His practice specializes in providing legal services to individuals in the areas of estate planning, trust and estate administration, and taxation of individuals, trusts and estates, with particular emphasis on minimizing exposure to gift and estate taxes while maximizing administrative flexibility.

Art is a past co-chairman of the Probate Section of the Stamford-Norwalk Regional Bar Association and is a member of the Connecticut, Florida and American Bar Associations. He has also served on the Charitable Giving and Exempt Organizations Committee of the Connecticut Bar Association Estate and Probate Section.

Art has served as President of the New Canaan Land Conservation Trust, Inc., a position which he held for over 15 years. He has also served as the secretary of the New Canaan Inn, is a past Chairman of the Waveny Care Network Board, is a past President of the New Canaan Community Foundation, past President of the Country Club of New Canaan, a past member of the Board of Directors of the Stamford Symphony, and has most recently held a position on the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Fund for the Environment.
