Comments: The first wetland mitigation area (?Wetland #1?) will be created adjacent to an existing wetland along the Patuxent River. The existing wetland contains a dug-out pond that was used for mosquito control but has now reverted to a scrub shrub and emergent wetland. The new wetland would create 2.3 acres of emergent wetland adjacent to the existing shrub/scrub and emergent wetland and 2.7 acres of forested wetland as a buffer to the existing farm fields for a total of 5 acres of created wetland. The second wetland mitigation area (?Wetland #2?) will be created behind wetlands that are adjacent to an existing farm pond. The existing wetlands are shrub/scrub. The new wetland would create 1.45 acres of emergent wetland next to the existing wetland and 3.55 acres of forested wetland behind the emergent wetland for a total of 5 acres of created wetland.
