White Slough Wildlife Area

White Slough Wildlife Area is 880 acres of man-made ditches, canals (borrow ponds), freshwater marshes, grassland / upland, and riparian habitat. Ponds were created during the construction of I-5. The nine ponds are, for the most part, not contiguous to each other.

Past uses included agricultural practices like cattle grazing and growing row crops. The property was designated as a wildlife area by the Fish and Game Commission in 1980.
