Warren County Soil Conservation District

The Warren County Soil Conservation District is dedicated to the conservation of our natural resources. It was established in 1952 as a special purpose subdivision of the New Jersey Department of Agriculture. With the passage of the New Jersey Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Act, Chapter 251, P.L. 1975, the District has been able to reduce these resource problems which result from urban sprawl. As one of fifteen soil conservation districts in New Jersey, it is the responsibility of the Warren County Soil Conservation District to review, certify, and enforce soil erosion and sediment control plans.

The Warren County Soil Conservation District began a forestry program in 1985. This program provides technical assistance on a wide variety of forestry matters to private landowners throughout Warren County. The services available through this program include: forest management plans, timber stand improvement, timber harvesting, and reforestation.
