The Dunes Center

The Dunes Center promotes the conservation and restoration of the Guadalupe-Nipomo dunes ecosystem through education, research, and the support of cooperative stewardship.

Environmental education is a key part of our program at the Dunes Center. Our XanaDune program is extremely popular with the younger set. For more information click on XanaDune!

Over 200 guided walks and talks per year are offered to the public on topics ranging from native gardening to land restoration. Special member only programs are offered from witnessing condor releases, to tours of industrial bioremediation sites on lands not normally accessible to the public.

Enrichment courses are given to volunteers throughout the year in addition to specialist support lent to community programs such as 4H, MESA & Scouting. In addition, the Dunes Center convenes and facilitates a myriad of meetings on water quality, dune restoration, agricultural issues and provides an agreeable and well-located venue for civic and community gatherings.
