Roaring Run Watershed Association

Founded in 1982, the Roaring Run Watershed Association's mission is to restore land which has suffered environmental damage, and to protect unspoiled tracts from unwarranted development. We are a non-profit environmental organization registered under both Pennsylvania and Federal codes.

The watershed, near Apollo, Pennsylvania, includes both Rattling Run and Roaring Run. Waterfalls, huge boulders and tree-covered hills make the area ideal for picnics, hiking and the enjoyment of nature. With the help of state and local authorities the Association has helped to curb the pollution and dumping that was once a common practice in the area. RRWA presently owns about 350 acres of land which is open to the public all year round.

The Roaring Run Watershed Association was formed in 1982 as a non-profit environmental preservation organization registered under both Pennsylvania and Federal codes. We maintain 501 (c) (3) status with the IRS. Contributions to the RRWA are tax deductible.
