Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P.

Founded in 1980, The Blum Firm is a leader in areas of estate planning, tax planning, probate, tax controversy, asset protection planning, planning for closely-held businesses, and tax-exempt organizations. As a specialty firm, we strive to provide the ideal environment to advise high net-worth families, professionals, and businesses on tax, estate planning, and related matters.  We place special emphasis on truly understanding our clients’ goals, both tax and non-tax related, and designing creative plans to achieve those goals.  Maintaining our clients’ confidentiality is also a high priority.  Each situation is unique, and we take pride in providing customized solutions that meet our clients’ needs.

In addition to our traditional lines of practice, we also advise businesses on ways to minimize taxes, protect the business and its owners from liability exposure, and plan for business succession at death or retirement.  In the current environment, individuals are seeking the firm’s services more and more for asset protection purposes, including protecting their children’s inheritance from creditors, divorce, and taxes.  Foresight and advance planning significantly impact your ability to provide security for future generations.

Our attorneys work as a team to generate creative and customized plans.  Although the work is technical, we value clear communication and practical solutions that our clients can understand.  We are committed not only to providing top quality work and service, but also to educating our clients to ensure that they are completely comfortable with their plan.

Each of our team members is carefully selected based on strong academic credentials and technical skills. The Texas Board of Legal Specialization has certified nine of our attorneys in Estate Planning and Probate Law and two in Tax Law. Nine are also Certified Public Accountants.

The combined expertise of our attorneys enables the firm to stay on the cutting edge of new developments and take a proactive approach to tax planning.  After all, success is in the planning.
