Florida Landowner Assistance Program

The goal of the Landowner Assistance Program (LAP) is to assist private landowners with enhancement of habitat conditions for fish and wildlife that lead to long term conservation partnerships with private landowners. Enrollment in the LAP indicates a landowner’s approval for documentation of plant and wildlife species occurrences.

LAP is a cooperative and voluntary effort between Florida private landowners, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to improve habitat conditions for fish and wildlife. LAP can provide technical assistance (plan and map writing), financial assistance, recognition, and education to participating landowners. There are no acreage limitations however available LAP financial assistance is being used to restore and conserve high priority habitats identified by Florida’s Wildlife Action Plan. See Focal Area Map below.

Eligible landowners must complete and sign a LAP application that includes the (1) Proof of Ownership and (2) Location Documentation.
