LandCAN

Clallam Conservation District

We are a non-regulatory sub-division of state government created in 1959 to help land users conserve natural resources. We provide information and technical and financial assistance to help you achieve your land use objectives in an environmentally sustainable manner. Assistance is provided at no cost.

Our five-member voluntary Board of Supervisors holds public meetings at 3:00pm on the second Tuesday of each month at our office located in the Armory Square Building, 228 W. First St., Suite H in Port Angeles. Funding for our services is provided primarily through state and federal grants.

Conservation districts are nationwide, grassroots conservation agencies.  CCD is governed by a local board of supervisors, elected or appointed, consisting of local residents.

The majority of our funding is in the form of grants from the Washington Conservation Commission. Each year we also seek grant funds from the Washington Department of Ecology, Salmon Recovery Funding Board, the North Olympic Salmon Coalition and other sources for ongoing or special projects.
