Wetland Restoration:

?

Wetlands are a critical part of our natural environment. They protect our shores from wave action, reduce the impact of floods, absorb pollutants and improve water quality.  Wetlands provide habitats for a wide diversity of plants and animals, many found nowhere else.

?

Over the past 12 years Williams Forestry & Associates has successfully implemented hundreds of acres of PFO (palustrine forested), PSS (palustrine scrub-shrub) and PEM (palustrine emergent) wetlands for our clients.  The majority of our clients are wetland banking companies and consulting firms. We have also restored wetlands for state agencies and private landowners to create habitat replacement. Williams Forestry & Associates has also found several sites for clients to mitigate their impacts. We are able to do this through fostering relationships, creating history and preserving our reputation with private landowners, local and state governments. We take a common sense approach to the species selection and implementation of these sites and we can provide a complete turnkey package.

Riparian Buffer Plantings:

?

Riparian buffers are a facet of our ecosystem that have gained more attention over the last decade. Riparian buffers are important for good water quality. Riparian zones help prevent sediment, nitrogen, phosphorus, pesticides and other pollutants from reaching our streams. Overhanging riparian vegetation helps keep stream temperatures cool, which is especially important for native fish species like trout. In addition to providing food and cover they are an important corridor or travel way for a variety of wildlife. Riparian vegetation slows floodwaters, thereby helping to maintain stable streambanks and protect downstream property.

?

Since 2000 Williams Forestry & Associates has installed over 17,100 acres of Riparian Buffers in the Eastern States of OH, KY, VA, MD, PA and NY. These types of conservation plantings led us into the ability to specialize in the planting of a large selection of native hardwoods and shrubs along with the ability to provide the best installation practices of tree shelters and competitive vegetation management. All of our Buffer plantings were turnkey projects and offered success guarantees.

Wildlife Habitat Plantings:

?

Within its habitat, an animal can find the food, water, shelter and space that it needs to survive. Broad habitat types include forests, agricultural lands, wetlands, streams, cities, and suburban areas. The types of wildlife you find will differ by habitat type and by habitat quality.

?

Proper habitat management involves managing the types, amount, or arrangement of food, water and cover within a habitat for the purpose of making the habitat more suitable for a specific species or group of species. That is where Williams Forestry & Associates comes in. Whether you own hundreds of acres of land or less than an acre, we can help you manage your land to improve habitat for wildlife.     We have years of experience creating, improving, and implementing Wildlife Habitat projects. Our staff is available to visit your project site and assist you in developing your property into a custom habitat for the species you are wanting to attract and hold.
