Special Restrictions:
  • Camping is not allowed
  • From Highway 299 at Cedarville, take Surprise Valley Road south to Patterson Hill Road; turn right at Patterson Hill Road to the Wildlife Area.
  • This Wildlife Area is 2,010 acres of sloping to steep terrain. It is a mix of habitat types including mixed conifer, sagebrush, meadow and riparian. This variety supports numerous species of fish and wildlife.
Recreational Use:
  • Type C Wildlife Area
  • Fishing, birdwatching and wildlife viewing are permitted. Among the species that can be viewed here are golden and bald eagle, prairie falcon, waterfowl, and mountain lion.
  • Deer, pronghorn, rabbit, quail, and dove permitted during open seasons
  • None
