Roundhouse Shoals Fishing Serviceslast updated: April 2013
The Arkansas Ozarks' two pristine tailwaters, the White River and its tributary the Norfork River, flow cold and clear year-round. These rivers' chemistry and temperature provide the perfect mix for healthy trout and the foods trout need.
Because of the wide variety of aquatic and terristrial insects and bait fish, the fly-fisher can utilize all sorts of fly fishing techniques.
Owner and guide, George Peters, and his associate guides are proficient in all methods that are productive on these storied rivers. From throwing large streamers to delicate presentations of size-24 dry flies, the Roundhouse group is ready to provide you with a great fishing experience in a beautiful setting.
We find wading the best approach to fishing on our rivers. However, we have drift boats and 'Jon' boats available if the circumstances require their use. In addition, we can supply most equipment for successful fly fishing, for those who do not own it.
One of our special joys here at Roundhouse Shoals: helping newcomers become proficient fly fishers -- and to experience the pleasure of fly fishing. Fly fishing does not require great strength; women and children can learn to handle a fly rod in just several hours.
Roundhouse Shoals Fishing Services sits on more than a half mile of river front with private access to the White River in Cotter, Arkansas (Trout Capital U.S.A.). Aside from our building we have a boat launch and boat dock. Additionally, our property provides great private access to wade fishing upstream and downstream in low water. Check out our lodging facility, Rainbow Bridge Lodge, located 15 seconds away in downtown Cotter. We also provide guided fishing for those that enjoy fishing for trout with bait or spinners.
