  • Modoc County - 8 miles east of Highway 395, southeast of Alturas
Special Restrictions:
  • Camping is not allowed.
  • Highway 395 south of Alturas to Parker Creek Road (County Road 56) to Road 57 to Pine Creek Boulevard, past Pine Creek Wildlife Area. Very rough 5 miles of road can only be accessed by 4 wheel drive. Locked gate at entrance to wildlife area permits only foot access.
  • This 2,080 acre Wildlife Area provides public access for hunting and fishing on excellent wetland, riparian, and riverine habitat. The area provides important winter and summer range for deer and antelope, as well as habitat for the Modoc sucker.
Recreational Use:
  • Type C Wildlife Area
  • Trout fishing, birdwatching, and wildlife viewing are permitted. Typical of species which can be seen here include songbirds, upland game birds, and birds of prey.
  • Deer and upland game are permitted in season.
  • None
