  • Camping is not allowed.
  • This Wildlife Area consists of two parcels - the Cantara parcel, and the Ney Springs parcel. Access to the river is available from both locations. • To access the Cantara parcel take Central Mt. Shasta Exit; turn left at stop sign on Lake Street, go over freeway; turn left on Old Stage Road. Travel ~2.5 miles and turn right at Azalea Road (a "T" intersection). Travel ~0.25 miles and turn right on Cantara Road. Follow road down to dirt parking area.
  • To access the Ney Springs parcel follow directions as for Cantara until you turn onto Old Stage Road. At this point, turn right on W.A. Barr Road, cross over Box Canyon Dam, then turn left on Castle Lake Road. Take the first available left turn on a dirt road and travel ~1.25 miles then turn left at the Ney Springs Access road.
