Adena Rissmanlast updated: July 2013
Adena Rissman is an assistant professor in the Department of Forest and Wildlife Ecology at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. I am a faculty affiliate of the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies, the Agroecology Program, and the Land Tenure Center.
My interdisciplinary research investigates the relationships between society and the environment in ecosystem management, conservation, and sustainable use. I investigate institutional approaches to conservation and new models of governance over public and private lands. My research employs mixed quantitative and qualitative methods including spatial analysis, surveys, and interviews.
I received my Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley in the Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management. Before graduate school, I worked as a forest planner for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. I received my B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin.
